Kitui East Philanthropist Sammy Mutea Embarks on Advanced Elite Security Training in Morocco After Landmark Community Empowerment Initiatives

Kitui East philanthropist and security expert Sammy Mutea has departed Kenya for North Africa to undertake advanced and specialized elite security training, marking a major milestone in his professional career and commitment to strengthening security standards.

Mutea, who has earned admiration for his dedication to community service and empowering young people, is widely known for organizing the Grand Sam’s Football Tournament, an annual event he has hosted for the past four years now. The tournament, which has become a key youth empowerment platform for the youths from Zombe, Mwitika, and the wider Kitui East area, providing a platform to promote unity, nurture talent, and steer young people away from drugs and other harmful social behaviors. Through the initiative, many youths have found a sense of purpose, hope, and belonging.

Apart from organizing the tournament, Mutea has remained actively involved in community development efforts across Kitui East. He has been consistently lobbying for key projects aimed at improving the welfare and infrastructure of the local residents. Recently, he demonstrated his commitment to enhancing security by voluntarily surrendering a piece of his land in his home area to facilitate the construction of a police post through the Kitui East National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) under the area Member of Parliament. The initiative is expected to boost security and well-being of his community.

The land handover ceremony for the construction of the police post was attended by the area OCPD Mr. Nzimbi, the area In-Charge of Crime Inspector Mr. Opiyo, Zombe/Mwitika Ward MCA Hon. Laban Malinga, former Councillor Hon. Kombo, Area Assistant Chief Mr. Jairus Nzaani, former Kitui County KEPSHA Chairman Mr. Mwanzia, and Kitui County Education CECM Joyce Masila among other local leaders and members of the community were also present to witness the occasion.

As he continues to serve his community, Mutea has now taken a bold step to enroll in elite security training in Morocco, North Africa, aimed at sharpening his tactical skills and enhancing his capabilities in handling high-level and sensitive security operations. The specialized program brings together security professionals from different parts of Africa and beyond, equipping them with advanced knowledge and operatives for high-risk and sensitive assignments.

Speaking to Ukambani News Hub, Sammy Mutea said the decision to pursue elite security training was driven by his desire to enhance his professional skills and better serve both his country and community. “My goal has always been to empower and protect my community. This training will help me return better prepared to contribute to improving security standards and supporting development initiatives back home,” he said.

The training focuses on key areas such as threat assessment, VIP protection, surveillance and counter-surveillance, tactical response, crisis management, and emergency response. Participants also undergo simulation exercises designed to prepare them for real-world security scenarios and evolving threats.

His participation in the international training underscores the growing need for highly trained security professionals as security challenges continue to evolve globally.
