Hon. Stephen Kitonga Alias ‘Network’ Revives Kaangini Water Project in Imuumba, Voo/Kyamatu Ward
Residents of Imuumba and Kaangini, Muthungue Sub-location in Voo/Kyamatu Ward, Kitui East Constituency, have a reason to celebrate after the revival of the long-stalled Kaangini Water Project, by Hon. Stephen Kitonga Mutisya, popularly known as Network.
For a while, the community has grappled with an acute shortage of clean water following the collapse of the project, forcing locals to travel long distances in search of the vital resource. The revival marks a new dawn for hundreds of households who will now have easier access to safe water.
Speaking during the launch, Hon. Network, who is eyeing the MCA seat for Voo/Kyamatu Ward in 2027, challenged the Kitui County Government under Governor Dr. Julius Malombe to regularly audit and re-evaluate projects to ensure functionality.
“There is no need for leaders to initiate so many projects if only a few are functional. We cannot continue having ‘white elephant’ projects that do not benefit the people,” he remarked.

The MCA aspirant further urged residents to be vigilant when electing leaders, warning against falling into the trap of politicians who thrive on empty narratives.
“Kenya has already learnt the hard way after believing in politics of mere narratives. In 2027, let us choose leaders who bring tangible development and not just promises,” Hon. Network advised.

Hon. Network emphasized that the revival of Kaangini Water Project is just the beginning of his broader plan to uplift Voo/Kyamatu Ward. He promised to unveil his official bid soon and assured residents of his commitment to championing people-centered development initiatives.

The revival of the Kaangini Water Project has been welcomed with relief by locals, who expressed optimism that the initiative will greatly ease their burden of water scarcity and improve their livelihoods.
