Mutomo FSA Celebrates Major Growth as Members Enjoy Increased Dividends Rates During 18th Annual General Meeting

The renowned Mutomo Financial Services Association (FSA) on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, held its 18th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Mutomo town, bringing together hundreds of members drawn from Mutomo Sub-county and neighboring areas.

The AGM marked another major milestone for the fast-growing financial institution after the FSA announced a remarkable increase in dividend rates from 18% to 30%, a clear indication of the institution’s strong financial growth and improved performance over the last financial year.

Speaking during the event, Mutomo FSA Manager Mr. Isaac Muasya expressed his gratitude to members for their continued trust and commitment towards the institution, noting that the FSA had registered tremendous growth due to increased savings, purchase of shares, and higher loan uptake among members.
Mr. Muasya attributed the rise in dividend rates to the members’ active participation and confidence in the association, saying the institution has continued to empower residents economically through affordable financial services. “The last financial year has been one of great progress for our FSA. Members have increased their savings, bought more shares, and embraced our loan products, which has greatly contributed to the increase in dividends,” said Mr. Muasya.

He further urged non-members to join the association, saying the FSA has transformed many lives by helping families educate their children, invest in businesses, improve farming activities, and uplift their standards of living.

Many families have improved their livelihoods through financial support and investment opportunities offered by the institution,” he added.

The event was also attended by Kitui South MP aspirant Hon. Gladys Mami Kivoto, who encouraged residents to embrace financial institutions and organized savings groups as a way of achieving economic independence and improving household incomes.

Hon. Mami Kivoto praised the leadership of Mutomo FSA for steering the institution towards growth and pledged her continued support towards initiatives aimed at empowering local communities economically.
Former Kitui Governor Hon. Charity Ngilu also graced the function, where she commended the association for its role in transforming the livelihoods of residents and encouraged wananchi to cultivate a saving culture and support local financial institutions.

Over the years, Mutomo FSA has steadily grown into one of the leading community-based financial institutions in the area, now boasting thousands of members and playing a critical role in promoting financial inclusion and economic empowerment across Kitui South and beyond.
The successful AGM reflected the confidence members have in the institution as it continues to expand its reach and improve the socio-economic well-being of the community.
