Big Win for Hon. Gladys Mami Kivoto as Mutomo FSA Members Endorse Her 2027 MP Bid

Kitui South incoming Member of Parliament Hon. Gladys Mami Kivoto on Wednesday received overwhelming support from members of Mutomo FSA who unanimously endorsed her MP seat bid during the institution’s 18th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Mutomo town.

The AGM attracted hundreds of members, stakeholders and local residents who gathered to review the financial institution’s progress and discuss strategies aimed at strengthening economic empowerment among members.

During the meeting, the FSA leadership announced impressive growth in the institution’s performance, revealing that dividends per rebate had increased from 18% to 30%, signaling steady growth and increased confidence among members.

Speaking during the event, Hon. Gladys Mami Kivoto lauded the Mutomo FSA for promoting a strong savings culture and financial discipline among members and helping many families improve their livelihoods through accessible financial services, saying cooperative financial institutions remain key drivers of grassroots economic transformation.

She encouraged members to continue embracing responsible borrowing and proper utilization of loans in order to transform their businesses, educate their children and invest in income-generating activities capable of improving household livelihoods.

Hon. Kivoto also challenged non-members across Kitui South to join financial institutions and organized savings groups, noting that such platforms play a critical role in empowering communities economically and reducing poverty levels.

She reiterated that economic empowerment, women empowerment and support for small-scale traders, farmers and youth groups remain among her top priorities for the people of Kitui South. “Financial institutions such as FSA are important pillars in transforming our communities. When people save together, invest together and support one another economically, families become stable and development becomes achievable,” she said.

She also offered her financial support towards the success of the event, a gesture that was warmly received and applauded by members present.

The meeting later turned political after members openly endorsed Hon. Gladys Mami Kivoto as the next Member of Parliament for Kitui South, describing her as a leader who has remained close to the people through community support initiatives and grassroots engagement.

The residents of Kitui South have expressed their dissatisfaction with the constituency’s leadership over the past 15 years saying that the constituency has been lagged behind in development for many years and requires fresh, people-centered leadership.

Hon. Gladys Mami Kivoto has continued to gain popularity across the constituency through her active participation in community activities, support for local groups and consistent engagement with ordinary wananchi ahead of the 2027 General Election.
