Why Hon. Benard Musyoki ‘Kakuawee’ is the Best Choice for Kyuso Ward MCA in 2027

Hon. Benard Musyoki, popularly known as Kakuawee, founder and patron of the Mwingi Youth Network and a 2027 aspirant for the Kyuso Ward MCA seat in Mwingi North constituency. Over the years, he has demonstrated exceptional commitment to community empowerment, especially among the youth of Kyuso Ward.

Speaking during a live radio interview at Akamba FM’s morning show, on Friday October 31, Hon. Benard Kakuawee highlighted several initiatives he has spearheaded to uplift the people of Kyuso Ward. Through youth-driven agricultural projects particularly in vegetable farming such as tomatoes, kale (sukumawiki), and cabbages, he has empowered many young people to become self-reliant. Along the banks of the famous Thunguthu River, his efforts have provided sustainable livelihood opportunities and promoted agribusiness in the area.

Through the Mwingi Youth Network, Hon. Benard Kakuawee has also organized football tournaments and other youth-centered activities aimed at promoting talent and unity. These initiatives not only engage the youth positively but also help to steer them away from social vices such as drug abuse and other bad influences.

Born and raised in Itiva Nzou, Kyuso Ward, Hon. Benard Kakuawee is known for his humility, accessibility, and strong connection with the community. Unlike many leaders who distance themselves after ascending into leadership, Kakuawee is always present attending local cultural events like Nthoki and Ndwae Ngone Mwaitu, as well as standing with his people during moments of celebration and sorrow. His genuine interaction with residents has earned him deep respect and trust across the ward.

When asked about his priorities if elected as MCA in 2027, Hon. Benard Kakuawee emphasized several key areas of focus, beginning with improved road infrastructure. He pledged to advocate for the grading and murraming of key roads that have remained impassable for years, hindering movement and economic growth across the ward. Through the county assembly and by lobbying relevant departments, he aims to ensure better connectivity and accessibility for residents. “One of the biggest challenges facing Kyuso Ward is the poor state of our roads. Once elected, I will ensure that all roads in the area are made passable to ease movement and improve connectivity.” he stated.

Water scarcity has long been one of Kyuso Ward’s greatest challenge. To address this, which is among his top priorities, Hon. Kakuawee revealed during the Akamba FM interview that he and his international partners from America and Finland are planning several borehole projects across the ward.

The initiative aims to bring a lasting solution to the perennial water shortages that have affected livelihoods in the ward. “Water has been the biggest challenge in my area. Even before becoming MCA, I have engaged partners and friends from America and Finland who have pledged to support me in drilling several boreholes to benefit the people of Kyuso Ward.” “If elected, I will make sure every village in Kyuso has access to clean and reliable water.” said Hon. Kakuawee.
