STOP PETTINESS: Kamba Gospel Artist Stephen Kasolo Blasted for Threatening to Terminate Upcoming YouTuber Over TikTok Videos

Popular Kamba gospel artist Stephen Kasolo has come under sharp criticism after he threatened to take down a YouTube channel run by an upcoming content creator known as Presenter Lucy TV. The YouTube channel, which currently boasts over 4.5K subscribers, has featured several clips from Kasolo’s TikTok live sessions, which appears to have irked the gospel singer.

In a strongly worded post shared on his Facebook page Kasolo lashed out at the content creator, warning her to delete all his content or face the consequences. He wrote: “Mwenye hii channel amejaza video zangu nikiwa live TikTok. Where do you get the courage to record and post people on your channel?? Mwambieni adelete kindly akishindwa asinilaumu. Sio poa kabisa mtu atafute content yake kwa njia zake. Bye.”

He followed up in the comments section with an ominous comment:

“Monday hatakuwa na hiyo channel.✌️”

The statement has triggered a wave of reactions online, with many fans and stakeholders in the entertainment industry calling out Kasolo for what they term as a “harsh” and “unnecessary” move against a young content creator trying to make her mark in the digital space.

Media personality and digital content creator Steven Mwalily, who took to his social media platforms to condemn Kasolo’s actions. Mwalily questioned Kasolo’s priorities and urged him to focus on his ministry and brand rather than fight smaller players in the content creation field.

“My Brother Kasolo, You Are Too Big For This Pettiness, Kindly FOCUS!!!” Mwalily wrote.

“I have seen Stephen Kasolo Kitole threatening to strike this YouTube channel by this girl known as Lucy. Why? Because Lucy has been recording Kasolo’s TikTok live videos, ana edit then anaweka kwa YouTube yake. Bro, you’re a very big brand with millions of followers across platforms. You shouldn’t be bothered by such small matters.”

Mwalily further noted that Presenter Lucy had not posted any defamatory or malicious content and that her work appeared to be in admiration of Kasolo’s ministry. He emphasized that many celebrities grow their online presence through content reposted by bloggers and upcoming digital media creators.

“I’ve gone through her channel and you can clearly tell she’s a big fan. Most of her content and captions are positive about you. What exactly are you losing when a blogger uses your clips? This street of the internet doesn’t work well with emotions. Bloggers have helped build many artists by reposting their work,” Mwalily added.

He also pointed out that major media pages like Tuko News, Nairobi Gossip Club, Ghafla, and Mpasho regularly use celebrity content to drive online engagement, which in turn helps artists stay relevant.

Concluding his message, Mwalily sent a heartfelt plea in Kamba:

“Kasolo mwa ekana na kelitu kaa kakune wia, nundu vaa ndikwona kindu kiutuma wenda kumwanangia channel… kethiwa mundu ndanaandika kindu kithuku kwa isyitwa yaku ndwaile umwanangia wia wake.”

Loosely translated: (Kasolo, leave the girl to do her hustle, I don’t see anything that should make you want to take down her channel… unless someone is writing bad things about you under your name, you shouldn’t interfere with their work.)
