Hon. Dr. Irene Kasalu Joins Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka for Burial Ceremony in Tseikuru, Mwingi North

Today, Kitui County Woman Representative and 2027 gubernatorial hopeful, Hon. Dr. Irene Kasalu, joined Wiper Patriotic Front leader H.E. Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka in Tseikuru, Mwingi North, for the burial of the late Titus Katumbu, son of Stephen Musyoka Katumbu. The ceremony was held at Musosya village, Musavani Location, Tseikuru Sub-County.

Hon. Irene Kasalu described the late Titus as “a pillar of kindness, a beacon of strength, and a man whose faith never wavered.” She noted that his generosity and purposeful life had left a mark on everyone who knew him. In a heartfelt gesture, Dr. Irene Kasalu pledged to build a decent house for Titus’ parents, fulfilling the unaccomplished wish of the late Titus, who had desired to build one for them.

During her address, Hon. Kasalu also lauded Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka as the best choice for the United opposition’s 2027 presidential candidate, citing his successful track record as Vice President under the late President Mwai Kibaki. “H.E. Kalonzo Musyoka did the best job as Vice President of Mwai Kibaki, and their government delivered more than any other administration. I urge the Kamba community and Kenyans at large to support Kalonzo, as he is the only leader capable of making William Ruto a one-term president,” she stated.

She contrasted Kalonzo’s performance with that of President Ruto, arguing that Ruto failed as Deputy President and has continued to fail as President. “You cannot fail as Deputy President and expect to succeed as President. Kalonzo has been tested and proven as Vice President; he can deliver as President of Kenya,” Hon. Kasalu remarked.

Beyond national politics, the Woman Representative also addressed the perennial clashes between Somali camel herders from neighbouring counties and Kitui residents. She decried the killings and destruction of farms caused by the herders, noting that she has consistently pursued the matter with successive Interior Cabinet Secretaries. “The people of Kitui are tired of this menace. I have been knocking on the doors of the Ministry of Interior since CS Kindiki’s tenure, and now with CS Kipchumba Murkomen, to ensure this issue of Somali camel herders is addressed once and for all,” she affirmed.

Hon. Dr. Irene Kasalu has consistently stood with Kitui residents during times of joy and sorrow, building her profile as a people-centered leader.

Wiper Patriotic Front Leader Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, Tseikuru Ward MCA Hon. Kimanzi Muange, and several other dignitaries were also present during the burial ceremony and console the family of Stephen Musyoka Katumbu.
