Kitui County Governor Dr. Julius Malombe on Tuesday December 16, 2025, officially commissioned the new Kitui County Public Service Board (CPSB) offices, reaffirming the county’s commitment to an ethical, efficient, and people-centred public service.

The modern facility, constructed at a cost of slightly above Ksh. 15 million and completed in less than 12 months, is expected to significantly enhance institutional efficiency. The new offices will strengthen records security, improve service delivery, create a conducive working environment for staff, and safeguard the independence of the County Public Service Board as it serves the people of Kitui with dignity and integrity.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, CPSB Chairperson Dr. Florence Makindi lauded the County Executive under Governor Malombe and the Kitui County Assembly under for their unwavering support in ensuring the successful completion of the project.

For years, the Board operated from rented premises that were both costly and inadequate, particularly given the sensitive nature of documents handled by the office. The completion of the new offices marks a major milestone in improving the management of the county’s human capital while reducing the recurrent expenditure burden on county resources.

In his address, Governor Malombe urged Board members to uphold fairness and integrity in all appointments, emphasizing that a transparent public service is key to improving performance, and the quality of services delivered to the people of Kitui.

Kitui County Assembly Speaker Hon. Kevin Kinengo Katisya reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to fast-tracking pending legislation and praised the County Executive for notable service delivery across the county.

Speaker Kinengo also expressed his readiness to fully and unconditionally support the Governor in delivering his development agenda for the people of Kitui. “I want to reiterate that the Kitui County Assembly will continue to work hand in hand with the County Executive under the leadership of H.E. Dr. Julius Malombe. The Assembly remains fully committed to passing all bills, proposals, and policies aimed at advancing the development and welfare of the people of Kitui and forwarding them to the Governor for implementation.”

The event was also attended by Deputy Governor H.E Augustine Kanani, County Executive Committee Members (CECMs), Chief Officers, members of the Kitui County Assembly Service Board led by Chairperson Hon. Joseph Kasungi MCA Waita Ward, and other distinguished leaders.
