CO Gladys Kivoto Condoles with the Family of the Late David Matundu in Koma Village, Ikanga/Kyatune Ward
Super Chief Officer for Agriculture & Fisheries and Kitui South incoming MP Hon. Gladys Mami Kivoto on Thursday, March 12, 2026, joined hundreds of mourners during the burial ceremony of the late David Matundu Mutisya at Koma Village in Nduundune, Ikanga/Kyatune Ward, Kitui South Constituency.
CO Kivoto attended the solemn ceremony as family, friends and residents gathered to pay their last respects to a man whose guidance and wisdom shaped generations.
The late David Matundu Mutisya, who passed away at the age of 100 years, was remembered as a peaceful, hardworking, and devoted family man who left a lasting legacy within his community. He was the father of Celestine Kanini, the Village Administrator of Nduundune/Nzalani in Ikanga/Kyatune Ward.
Speaking during the burial ceremony, CO Kivoto eulogized the late Matundu as a respected elder whose life was defined by humility, wisdom, and dedication to family and community. She noted that reaching the age of 100 years was a blessing and a testament to a life well lived.
She encouraged the family to remain united and draw strength from the values that the late Matundu instilled in them. She also urged the community to continue honoring elders who have played a significant role in shaping society.
CO Gladys Kivoto has consistently remained at the forefront of supporting the community, standing firmly with residents through both their moments of celebration and their times of grief, reaffirming her commitment to walking with the people of Kitui South through all seasons.
The burial ceremony was presided over by Rev. Fr. Flavian Mwendwa of St. Paul’s Ikanga Parish, where the late David Matundu was a devoted Catholic church member.
Hundreds of residents, local leaders, and administrators from across the constituency attended the burial ceremony. Among those present was Ikanga/Kyatune Ward Administrator Joycaster Mumina, who was accompanied by several village administrators as they joined residents in paying their last respects.
