Hon. Gladys Kivoto Graces Retirement Ceremony of Veteran Mutomo Mixed Matron Mrs. Ann Musyoka

Kitui South incoming Member of Parliament, Hon. Gladys Mami Kivoto, on Friday graced the retirement ceremony of longtime Mutomo Mixed Secondary School matron, Mrs. Ann Musyoka, in a colorful event held at Thome Village in Mutomo/Kibwea Ward.
The ceremony brought together teachers, former students, colleagues, and community members who gathered to celebrate Mrs. Musyoka’s remarkable 16-year service at the institution. Known for her dedication, discipline, and motherly care, she was lauded for shaping the welfare and character of countless students during her tenure.

Speaking during the event, Hon. Mami Kivoto praised Mrs. Ann Musyoka for her unwavering commitment to nurturing students and maintaining a supportive school environment. She noted that non-teaching staff such as matrons play a critical role in the holistic development of learners, often acting as guardians and mentors away from home. “Her service has helped shape the lives of many students. We appreciate her dedication and wish her well in the next chapter of her life,” said Kivoto.

Hon. Gladys Kivoto has consistently remained at the forefront in standing with the people of Kitui South during both moments of joy and times of sorrow. Whether joining families in celebration or offering comfort during periods of grief, she has demonstrated a rare and genuine connection with the community. Her presence in these significant moments reflects not just leadership, but a deep sense of empathy and solidarity with the people she seeks to serve.
Mrs. Musyoka, who served as the school matron for over a decade and a half, expressed gratitude to the school administration, colleagues, and the community for their support throughout her journey. She described her time at Mutomo Mixed as fulfilling and impactful, having watched many students grow into responsible members of society.

The event was also attended by former Kitui South MP Mwangu Ivuti, who currently serves as a political advisor to Governor Julius Malombe. Ivuti commended Mrs. Musyoka for her service and wished her well in her retirement. “Now that you have retired after 16 years of dedicated service to the school, you will fully focus on serving your home. We wish you all the best and a happy, fulfilling retirement,” said Mwangu Ivuti.
