Hon. Sylvester Musyoka Unveils Bold 8-Point Development Agenda for Ikanga/Kyatune Ward
Ikanga/Kyatune Ward MCA 2027 aspirant Hon. Sylvester Musyoka Peter, popularly known as SMP, has unveiled an ambitious eight-point development agenda as he seeks to represent the people of Ikanga/Kyatune Ward in the 2027 General Election.
The MCA hopeful has positioned himself as a servant leader rather than a conventional politician, he says his vision is anchored on people-centered leadership, accountability, and full implementation of devolved functions as provided for under the Constitution of Kenya.
Under the slogan “Tujenge Ikanga/Kyatune Pamoja,” Hon. Sylvester Musyoka outlined key priority areas, maintaining that his focus is on practical, people-driven solutions to the ward’s long-standing challenges facing residents.
Roads and Infrastructure: He identified poor road networks as a major setback to economic growth and accessibility in the ward. If elected, he pledged to prioritize grading and routine maintenance of rural access roads to enhance mobility, boost trade, and ease connectivity to schools and health facilities.
Water Access: Citing water scarcity as a persistent problem, he committed to pushing for the completion of stalled water projects, drilling and equipping solar-powered boreholes, and establishing community water points to guarantee residents reliable access to clean and safe water.
Health and Sanitation, Hon. Sylvester Musyoka said he will advocate for the upgrading of local dispensaries to ensure they are adequately staffed and stocked with essential medicines. He also promised to support community health outreach programs to improve sanitation and preventive healthcare services.
On Education and Skills Development, the aspirant emphasized the need for strengthening Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) centres through improved infrastructure and learning materials. He also pledged to champion fair and transparent bursary allocation and push for equipment grants to enhance vocational training institutions in the ward.
Youth, Women and Special Groups Empowerment: Hon. Sylvester Musyoka promised to prioritize empowerment initiatives targeting youth, women, and vulnerable groups through entrepreneurship support, skills development programs, and improved sports facilities to nurture talent and create income-generating opportunities.
Markets and Trade: To stimulate local commerce, he pledged to upgrade markets by improving lighting, security, and stall conditions. He further committed to advocating for fair trader protections to create a conducive environment for small-scale businesses.
Ward-Based Development: In a move aimed at strengthening the local economy, Hon. Sylvester Musyoka vowed to ensure that ward projects prioritize local labour, contractors, and suppliers, arguing that development must directly benefit residents.
Fighting Crime and Drug Abuse: Addressing concerns over rising cases of insecurity and substance abuse, he proposed mentorship programs, sports initiatives, and skills training to keep youth productively engaged. He also pledged to collaborate with security agencies to enhance safety across the ward.
Hon. Sylvester Musyoka concluded by affirming his commitment to integrity, participatory budgeting, and quarterly public barazas to ensure residents remain actively involved in decision-making and oversight of development projects.
As political activities begin to gather momentum, his 8-point agenda is expected to shape the discussions around development priorities in Ikanga/Kyatune Ward as we approach 2027 general elections.
