Kitui South de facto Member of Parliament, Hon. Gladys Mami Kivoto, has reaffirmed her commitment to nurturing young talent after donating full sports kits and financial support to schools representing the constituency in the upcoming Primary and Junior Secondary School National Ball Games in Thika, Kiambu County.

The donation benefited three schools that qualified to represent Kitui County and the Eastern Region at the prestigious national championships. The beneficiaries include Vote Primary School Football Team, Ilusya Primary and Junior Secondary School Netball Team, and Kathingu Primary School from Mutha Ward.

In addition to the complete jersey kits, Hon. Mami Kivoto also presented a cash donation to all nine teams from Kitui South participating in the national games to cater for their basic needs and motivate them as they compete against the country’s best.

Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Kivoto congratulated the players and their coaches for earning the opportunity to represent Kitui South, on the national stage through hard work, discipline, and determination. She urged the young players to remain focused, uphold discipline, and give their best performances, noting that they are ambassadors of both the constituency and Kitui County.

She urged the young athletes to represent Kitui South with pride, expressing confidence that they have what it takes to excel against the country’s top teams. She further assured them of her continued support, noting that investing in sports is key to identifying and nurturing young talents.

Hon. Mami Kivoto reiterated her commitment to investing in youth empowerment through sports, education, and mentorship across Kitui South, saying talented learners deserve the necessary support to realise their full potential both on and off the field.

The donation is expected to boost the morale of the teams as they seek to bring national honours to Kitui South, Kitui County, and the Eastern Region.
