Hon. Gladys Mami Kivoto Condoles Family of the late Jedida Mulandi as She Reaffirms 2027 Kitui South MP Bid

Kitui South incoming Member of Parliament Hon. Gladys Mami Kivoto today joined family members, friends and hundreds of residents at Kasundu Village in Uae Sub-location, Mutomo/Kibwea Ward, to pay her last respects to the late Jedida Mwia Mulandi during her burial ceremony.

The late Jedida Mwia Mulandi passed away at the remarkable age of 102, leaving behind a legacy of faith, humility and dedicated service to both God and the community. During the funeral service, speakers described her as a selfless, compassionate and God-fearing woman whose life positively impacted generations.

Addressing mourners, Hon. Kivoto conveyed her condolences to the bereaved family, describing the late Jedida’s long life as a great blessing and an inspiration to the community.
She said the deceased’s 102 years reflected a life lived with purpose, faith and commitment to family and society, urging the family to find comfort in the values and legacy she leaves behind.

Hon. Kivoto also reiterated her commitment to the people of Kitui South, saying that, if elected as the constituency’s Member of Parliament in the 2027 General Election, she would prioritise development which has been lacking for the last 15 years now leaving the constituency lagged behind.

She noted that her leadership vision is anchored on servant leadership and pledged to continue engaging residents and addressing their concerns while supporting communities during both difficult and celebratory moments.

Over the years, Hon. Kivoto has maintained an active presence across Kitui South, participating in community, religious and development activities as she seeks to strengthen her engagement with residents ahead of the 2027 elections.

The burial ceremony was also attended by former Cabinet Secretary Hon. Peninah Malonza, Governor Dr. Julius Malombe’s Political Advisor and former Kitui South MP Hon. Mwangu Ivuti, Mutomo/Kibwea Ward MCA Hon. David Masaku, local administrators, clergy and hundreds of mourners who gathered to celebrate the life of the late Jedida Mwia Mulandi.
