Commissioner Benedict Muasya Hosts Boda Boda Empowerment Programme at Katheka, Kitui West

Today, Commissioner of Commission on Revenue Authority (CRA) Benedict Muasya hosted a major Boda Boda Empowerment Programme forum at his rural home in Katheka, Kitui West Constituency.

The event brought together hundreds of boda boda operators from across the constituency, marking a significant step towards empowering riders and promoting safer, more organized transport systems in the constituency.

Speaking during the empowerment forum, Commissioner Muasya highlighted several key development projects being spearheaded by the national government under President William Ruto. He revealed that he will soon be meeting Principal Secretary for the State Department for Energy, Alex Kamau Wachira, to discuss the acceleration of a Ksh 221 million electricity installation project targeting Kitui West residents.

“I will be having a meeting with Energy PS to discuss the Kitui West electricity project so that the process can accelerate and our people can finally access power,” Muasya said.

A major highlight of the empowerment programme was the announcement that over 100 electric motorbikes will be purchased and distributed to boda boda operators across Kitui West. The initiative is designed to reduce fuel costs, promote clean energy adoption, and modernize the transport sector.

The well-attended event was graced by several leaders, including Mwala MP Eng. Vincent Musyoka Kawaya, Nominated Senator Hon. Tabitha Mutinda, Masinga MP Hon. Joshua Mwalyo, among others.
