Commission on Revenue Allocation (CRA) Commissioner and Kitui West Constituency 2027 parliamentary aspirant, Hon. Benedict Muasya, has strongly criticised leaders who use burial ceremonies to advance petty and divisive politics instead of offering comfort to bereaved families.

Speaking during the burial of his late father, Mzee Nicholas Mutiso Ngimbwa, at Katheka in Kitui West Constituency, Commissioner Muasya expressed disappointment with leaders who, he said, exploit such solemn occasions to push political agendas rather than promote unity and development. “I am deeply disappointed by some leaders, especially from the opposition side, whose only message is ‘Ruto Must Go’ and ‘Wantam’. Kenyans need progressive leaders who speak the language of the common mwananchi and focus on development,” Muasya stated.

He further called out leaders who fail to articulate clear agendas to the people they seek to represent, noting that large gatherings should be used to share meaningful development plans rather than spreading divisive slogans. “Instead of telling people what they intend to do once elected, some leaders use these platforms to promote empty slogans like ‘one term’ and other unhelpful rhetoric. Such leaders lack vision and direction and they should be rejected,” he added.

Commissioner Muasya also lauded President William Ruto for spearheading development projects in the Ukambani region, particularly in Kitui West Constituency. He also expressed gratitude to the President and leaders from across the political divide who stood with him throughout the mourning period. “I sincerely thank President William Ruto and all leaders aligned with the government, as well as those from other political affiliations, for their support during this difficult time. I am truly humbled and grateful,” he said.

The late Mzee Nicholas Mutiso Ngimbwa was eulogized as a devoted father and a pillar of the community who touched many lives beyond his immediate family. He was remembered for his love, wisdom, humility, and strength of character.

The burial ceremony was attended by several leaders from across the political spectrum, including Mwingi West MP Hon. Charles Ngusya Nguna, Kitui West MP Hon. Edith Nyenze, Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua, Hon. Nicholas Mulila, Kitui County Woman Representative Dr. Irene Kasalu, Hon. Boniface Musambi, Dr. Vincent Munyoki, Hon. Annastacia Muendo among others.
