(VIDEO) “Bibi Ya Gachagua Ako na Mwanaume Mwingine – Bishop,” Kimani Ichung’wah Claims
A fresh political storm is brewing after controversial remarks by Kikuyu Member of Parliament and National Assembly Majority Leader Hon. Kimani Ichung’wah, who alleged that Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, the wife of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, is involved in an extramarital relationship with a well-known bishop.
Speaking during a women empowerment event in Kajiado Central, attended by Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki and Prime Cabinet Secretary Hon. Musalia Mudavadi, Ichung’wah launched a scathing attack on the former second-in-command and his family life.
“Gachagua amekaliwa na bibi yake. Si huwa mnaona huyo jamaa hawezi ongea kabla bibi yake aongee. Anaambia nani one-term? Hiyo one-term aambie bibi yake. Kwanza huyo bibi yake inajulikana ako na mwanaume mwingine – Bishop,” Ichung’wah claimed, sparking murmurs from the crowd.

The remarks are being seen as part of the deepening political rift between allies of President William Ruto and former DP Gachagua. Ichung’wah, who has built a reputation for his combative and often inflammatory rhetoric, has previously clashed with the former Deputy President on matters of succession, regional politics, and influence within the Mount Kenya bloc.

While political jabs are not uncommon in Kenya’s highly charged landscape, Ichung’wah’s decision to drag Pastor Dorcas Rigathi into the fray is raising eyebrows. Dorcas, who has carved out a national role as a preacher and advocate for boy-child empowerment, has generally steered clear of political controversy.
No evidence has been presented to support the explosive claims, and neither Pastor Dorcas nor Gachagua has responded to the allegations yet. However, political analysts warn that the remarks could signal a dangerous trend of personal smear tactics ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Ichung’wah’s statements may be aimed at discrediting Gachagua by casting doubts on his personal life and leadership authority, especially within his own household.

The public reaction has been mixed while some supporters of Ichung’wah have praised his “fearless truth-telling,” others have condemned the remarks as inappropriate, misogynistic, and disrespectful.
As the political temperature continues to rise, eyes are now on the Rigathis who are on a Two-months US Tour to see whether they will respond to the allegations made by Hon. Ichung’wah.
