The Board of Directors of the Tana Athi Water Works Development Agency (TANATHI), led by Board Chairperson Hon. Regina Ndambuki, on Friday, January 23, 2026, presided over a successful handover ceremony marking the transition of leadership at the Agency.
During the ceremony, held at the TANATHI Boardroom in Kitui Town, Acting Chief Executive Officer Mr. Francis Siva officially handed over office to the newly appointed substantive Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Sammy Naporos.

In her remarks, Hon. Ndambuki warmly welcomed and congratulated Mr. Naporos on his appointment, urging the management team to accord him full cooperation and support as he assumes office.
She underscored the importance of teamwork, openness to learning, and strong institutional support, noting that the new CEO brings a wealth of experience that the Agency should harness to enhance service delivery. The Board Chairperson further encouraged management to embrace and strengthen the new ideas and strategic direction being introduced by the incoming CEO.

Hon. Regina Ndambuki also noted that the appointment of a substantive Chief Executive Officer marks the end of leadership challenges previously experienced at the Agency and ushers in a new era of stability, focus, and renewed direction.

She also took the opportunity to commend and congratulate the outgoing Acting CEO, Mr. Francis Siva, for his dedication and commitment during the transition period, acknowledging his role in ensuring continuity and operational stability.
Speaking during the ceremony, the newly appointed CEO, Mr. Naporos praised Mr. Siva for his leadership during the acting period, acknowledging the challenges that came with the role and affirming his readiness to confront them with courage and a positive outlook.

Mr. Naporos assured the Board and management team of continuity, collaboration, and a constructive working relationship as he undertakes his mandate.
In his remarks, Mr. Siva welcomed the new CEO and pledged his full support to ensure a smooth transition. He also expressed gratitude to the management team for the cooperation and support he received during his tenure as Acting Chief Executive Officer.
The appointment of Mr. Naporos comes at a critical time for the Agency as it seeks to strengthen leadership, improve service delivery, and advance key water infrastructure projects within the Tana Athi region.
