Prophet Owuor Refutes False Prophecies Of End-of-World on Saturday August 2

The leadership of the Ministry of Repentance and Holiness, led by renowned televangelist Prophet David Owuor, has publicly disowned and condemned viral claims predicting that the world will end on Saturday, August 2.

In a strongly worded statement released today August 1 and signed by Senior Archbishop Michael Nieswand, the church categorically denied that Prophet Owuor or any official from the ministry made such predictions. The statement dismissed the reports as “false, baseless, malicious, and intended to harm” both the image of the prophet and the integrity of the church.

“We, the leadership and congregation of the Ministry of Repentance and Holiness, strongly denounce the recent spread of false and misleading information about the world ending on August 2, 2025,” read part of the statement.

The allegations, which surfaced on social media in late June and quickly gained traction, claimed that Prophet Owuor had prophesied the end of the world. The church, however, insisted that such claims are not only inaccurate but also stem from a misinterpretation of Scripture and the prophet’s teachings.

Citing Matthew 24:36, the statement reminded the public of a foundational Christian doctrine that no one knows the day or hour of the return of Christ:

“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.”

The church emphasized that any prediction attempting to assign a specific date to the end of the world is in direct contradiction with biblical truth.

In addressing the viral misinformation, the Ministry of Repentance and Holiness called on media houses, bloggers, content creators, and social media users to act responsibly and verify facts before publishing or sharing content, especially when such information can mislead or create fear among the public.

“As believers, we are called to pursue truth, peace, and righteousness. Let us not be quick to spread gossip, but instead be diligent in prayer, discernment, and unity,” the statement urged.

The controversial reports had drawn mixed reactions online, with some individuals alarmed and others openly mocking the claims. While a small segment of online users appeared to support the prophecy, the majority dismissed it as unfounded speculation. In light of the growing discourse, the church saw it necessary to provide an official response and set the record straight.

The Ministry of Repentance and Holiness has consistently emphasized repentance, holiness, and preparation for the return of Jesus Christ. However, the leadership reaffirmed that this focus does not equate to assigning specific dates to eschatological events.
