State House Coordination Director Hon. Boniface Musambi has officially declared that he will be vying for the Kitui Central Constituency parliamentary seat in the upcoming 2027 Kenyan General Election.
Musambi made the announcement while speaking at his rural home in Kilukuya Village in Mulango Ward, where he hosted hundreds of residents drawn from different parts of the constituency.
According to Musambi, residents from several areas including Kilukuya, Kitundu, Kangalu, Yowani, Kathukini, Musyau and Mulango turned up at his home with a single message, that he should contest for the Kitui Central MP seat in 2027. “We had a good time engaging together and they endorsed my candidature. I have accepted their request and I will be on the ballot come 2027,” Musambi said.
Musambi noted that he has remained actively involved in championing development initiatives in Kitui Central despite not holding the parliamentary seat. He said his focus has been on supporting education, infrastructure and social development programs across the constituency.

Among the initiatives he highlighted is facilitating more than 1,800 students to join Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions to pursue various courses aimed at equipping them with practical skills. He also pointed to infrastructure projects he has lobbied for, including the tarmacking of the Wikililye–Katulani–Maliku road.
He further revealed that during a recent meeting between Ukambani leaders and President William Ruto at State House Nairobi, he presented several development proposals for the constituency. Among the projects he said he has lobbied for include the establishment of the Wikililye ESP Market and the construction of the Kwa Ngindu–Museve–Miambani–Kamandio road linking to Mwingi, with Phase One expected to cover the Kwa Ngindu–Museve Shrine section.
Musambi also disclosed that he lobbied for the establishment of Huduma Centres in Miambani and Katulani towns to bring government services closer to residents of Kitui Central.
In the 2022 General Elections Hon. Boniface Musambi contested for the same seat but narrowly lost to the incumbent MP Hon. Makali Mulu who has since announced that he will not defend the seat in 2027 as he prepares to contest for the Kitui County gubernatorial position.
With Musambi now officially declaring his interest, the race for the Kitui Central parliamentary seat is expected to attract significant attention as the 2027 elections draw closer.
