Kitui County Governor H.E Dr. Julius Malombe has officially received a detailed report from the select committee tasked with overseeing the recruitment of three key county officials: the County Secretary, the County Attorney, and the Secretary to the County Public Service Board.
Speaking during the presentation at his Office, Governor Malombe lauded the committee, chaired by Dr. Nzomo Mwita, for its commitment to professionalism, diligence, and transparency throughout the competitive recruitment process. “I wish to sincerely thank Dr. Mwita and the entire committee for executing this important task with the integrity it deserved. The process was credible and aligns with our vision for an efficient and people-centered county administration,” said the Governor.
Dr. Malombe affirmed that the nominees’ names will soon be forwarded to the County Assembly’s Committee on Appointments for vetting and possible approval.
“These appointments are crucial in strengthening our county’s governance structure, enhancing service delivery, and ensuring smooth coordination of county operations,” he added.

The recruitment exercise was held last week at the County Assembly and involved thorough evaluations of candidates’ qualifications and competence.
The top contenders from the selection process include: Alex Musembi and Agnes Mulewa for the position of County Secretary. Dennis Muinduko Kyalo and Timothy Kyalo Muange for County Attorney while Christopher Okumu and Festus Muimi Mwangu for Secretary to the County Public Service Board.
The Governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to merit-based appointments and accountable leadership, emphasizing that the final selections will aim to reflect both professionalism and the needs of the people of Kitui County.
