Mwingi Pastor Arraigned in Court for Allegedly Defiling and Impregnating 14-Year-Old Girl

A middle-aged man, identified as Pastor Maxwell Mulinge of a local church in Katuyu area, Nguutani Ward, Migwani Sub-County, was today arraigned in Migwani Court over allegations of raping and impregnating a 14-year-old girl.

The suspect was arrested early this morning after the matter was reported to local authorities and confirmed through medical examinations.

According to Nguutani Acting Chief, Mr. Simon Kavive, the incident came to light earlier this week when concerned parties noticed physical changes in the minor, identified as Felistus Kamene Monicah.

“Two or three days ago, we received reports that the girl appeared to be pregnant. We took her to the hospital for testing, and doctors confirmed she is three months pregnant. Upon interrogation, she disclosed that her pastor was responsible. We immediately ensured his arrest and today he has been arraigned in court,” Chief Kavive stated.

Chief Kavive issued a stern warning to individuals preying on minors, stressing that the government would not tolerate such crimes.

The girl’s grandfather, Samuel Nzelu, expressed outrage and called for justice. “We want the law to take its full course. This man has betrayed our trust and destroyed my granddaughter’s future. He must face the consequences,” Mr. Nzelu said.

The pastor remains in custody as the case proceeds, with authorities vowing to ensure justice for the victim and to protect minors from exploitation.
