The political wave in Kitui South Constituency continues to shift steadily in favour of Kitui South incoming MP Hon. Gladys Mami Kivoto, whose 2027 Member of Parliament bid is increasingly gaining massive grassroots support across the constituency.

This was evident at Kathithu village in Kyatune Location, where residents openly declared their support for Hon. Mami Kivoto during the emotional burial ceremony of the late Fednard Mwangangi Charles, who sadly passed away at the tender age of 36, leaving behind a young family and two children.

The solemn ceremony brought together family members, friends, leaders, and residents who gathered to mourn the untimely loss of the young man whose death deeply touched the local community.

Speaking during the burial ceremony, Hon. Mami Kivoto expressed her heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, terming the loss as painful and devastating, especially considering the young age of the deceased and the young family he leaves behind. “It is heartbreaking to lose a young man at such an age, especially one who leaves behind a young family that depended on him,” she said.

She noted that losing a breadwinner at such a stage in life leaves emotional and financial burdens on the family, calling on the community to continue standing together in support of the bereaved family during the difficult period.

In a show of compassion and solidarity, Hon. Mami Kivoto also participated in the fundraising Harambee organized to help clear the huge hospital bill left behind by the deceased. She offered her financial support toward the cause, an act that was highly appreciated by residents and mourners present during the ceremony.

Residents of Kathithu praised Hon. Mami Kivoto for her consistent presence among the people, saying she has remained accessible and supportive during both joyful and difficult moments in the lives of Kitui South residents.
Many residents described her as a leader who understands the struggles of ordinary wananchi and one who has continuously demonstrated compassion, humility, and commitment to serving the people at the grassroots level.
