Peter Mutuse Maunda, fondly known by fans as Star Kivisi 001, has officially parted ways with Mutongoi FM/TV after nearly four years of impactful broadcasting at the popular Kamba-language media station.

Star Kivisi, widely celebrated for his vibrant energy, humour, and deep connection with his audience, made the announcement on his Facebook page earlier today. In the heartfelt message, he thanked his loyal listeners and viewers for their unwavering support since he joined the station on December 14, 2021. “Good morning. First and foremost I want to thank you all for the support you have accorded me from December 14th, 2021 when I joined Mutongoi TV/FM to date,” wrote Star Kivisi. “For now, I take a bow. Soon I will announce to you my new home.”

During his tenure, Star Kivisi became a household name across Ukambani and beyond, entertaining and informing his audience through popular shows such as “Kwambata Kwambata,” “Nikyavya Ngwatilo,” “Nikyalilimbana,” “Mbenzi,” and the well-loved evening program “Thuva wa Mbai” which aired Monday to Friday from 7 PM to 10 PM on Mutongoi FM.

His departure marks the end of a vibrant chapter not only for the station but also for the many listeners who tuned in religiously to his shows, drawn in by his engaging style.

Although he has not yet revealed where he is headed next, Star Kivisi hinted at exciting upcoming ventures, including a new podcast project in partnership with fellow creative Dante Mwanaa Mbui, and a renewed focus on his personal brand and media business. “In the meantime, I am focusing on our new podcast together with Dante Mwanaa Mbui, on advertisement recording and shootings under my company, Real Time Media and Events (Ngwangwa Night is around the corner),” he shared.
