Why Hon. Vincent Mutua is the Right Choice for Kitui West Constituency MP Seat

Hon. Vincent Mutua a youthful leader and 2027 aspirant for the Kitui West Constituency Member of Parliament seat, has laid out a compelling case for why he is the right choice to lead the constituency into a new era of progress and accountability.

Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected leaders of the Kitui County University and College Students Association (KUCSA) at a hotel in Kitui Town, Hon. Mutua called on the youths, university and college students from Kitui West, to unite and drive a new political narrative. He emphasized the need to break away from a leadership cycle that he says has remained within the same family for over 25 years.John Mbusyo

Hon. Vincent Mutua criticized the current MP, Hon. Edith Nyenze, for what he termed as a lack of proactive representation in Parliament. “The issues affecting Kitui West should be articulated in the National Assembly, not just in funerals or cultural events like ‘Ndwae Ngone Mwaitu’,” he said. He pledged that, if elected, he will consistently voice the concerns of his constituents on the floor of the House and actively lobby for development projects from relevant ministries and Cabinet Secretaries, instead of relying solely on NG-CDF funds, which are disbursed irrespective of the MP’s performance.

Highlighting his technical background and experience, Hon. Vincent Mutua unveiled five key flagship projects he intends to deliver when elected: The tarmacking of Syongila–Matinyani–Kakumuti–Muthale Road, linking it to the Kwa-Siku–Mbondoni road and Katutu Kwa Vonza Road upgrade to bitumen. In water projects he promised to do the Kitumui Water Project in Matinyani, Muthamo Earthdam development in Muthale and Matinga Earth Dam Water Project implementation for enhanced water access.

He urged the people of Kitui West to move beyond the politics of bursaries, chiefs’ offices, and classroom construction. “It’s time to elevate the vision for our constituency. We must aim higher and think bigger,” he stated.

Hon. Vincent Mutua was accompanied by former Mutonguni ward MCA Hon. Musee Mati.
