Cassypool Throws Shade at Bien’s New Hit: “All My Haters Are Suffering…”

Kenyan entertainer and actor Kevin Odhiambo, popularly known as  Cassypool, has once again stirred the waters of the local entertainment scene, this time by taking a swipe at singer Bien-Aimé Baraza, a former member of the award-winning band Sauti Sol.

Cassypool has strongly criticized Bien’s latest solo release titled “All My Haters Are Suffering,” dismissing it as underwhelming and overrated. According to the outspoken entertainer, the only redeeming part of the song is the chorus, while the rest, he says, is “nonsense.”

“Hio ngoma ya Bien ya All My Enemies Are Suffering ni chorus tu ndio mzuri. Hio ingine ni upuzi na kiluyha tu ndio ameimba! Kama sio Shiti kukua hapo hio wimbo haingeenda mahali,” Cassypool said.

Roughly translated, he stated that Bien’s song is only enjoyable because of the chorus, while the rest of the lyrics largely sung in the Luhya dialect fail to resonate with a broader audience. He added that had it not been for the comic relief provided by popular comedian and actor DJ Shiti, the song would have flopped entirely.

The remarks come amidst a wave of praise for Bien’s recent solo projects, which often blend cultural elements and witty social commentary. While many fans have praised the artist for embracing his roots and unique sound, others like Cassypool feel the artistic direction might be alienating some listeners.

Bien has yet to publicly respond to Cassypool’s comments, but the buzz surrounding the song continues to grow, with conversations erupting online about the evolution of Kenyan music, authenticity, and the fine balance between creativity and relatability.

In 2025, Bien is thriving musically, consistently dropping hit after hit and solidifying his status as one of East Africa’s most dynamic artists. He made waves with Mpishi, a vibrant collaboration with Kenyan-Norwegian group Matata, followed by the soulful Safari featuring Somali star Suldaan Seeraar. His dominance on the charts continued with Katam, currently East Africa’s biggest song, where he teamed up with Tanzanian heavyweight Diamond Platnumz. Now, Bien is turning heads again with his latest solo project, “All My Haters Are Suffering,” a bold anthem that’s quickly gaining traction and further cementing his place at the top of the game.

This isn’t the first time Cassypool has voiced strong opinions about artists in the local scene. Known for his unfiltered takes, he has built a reputation as a pop culture commentator who isn’t afraid to ruffle feathers.

Whether you love or loathe the song, one thing is clear, “All My Haters Are Suffering” song is doing exactly what its title suggests.
