Hon. Boniface Musambi Flags Off 889 Students to join Kitui’s Largest Technical Training College
Director of Coordination at State House and 2027 Kitui Central parliamentary aspirant, Hon. Boniface Mutisya Musambi, popularly known as Nzeve nzau, has once again demonstrated his commitment to youth empowerment as he flagged off 889 students from Kitui Central and the greater Ukambani region to join one of Kitui’s largest Technical Training College.
The colorful event, held at Yumbisye Secondary School, was graced by the Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy, and Sports, Salim Mvurya, who served as the chief guest.
This milestone marks the fourth cohort of students sponsored and mobilized by Hon. Musambi in his education empowerment initiative. He first flagged off 300 youths in January 2024 to pursue courses at Technical and Vocational Colleges (TVCs). This was followed by a second batch of 500 students in May 2024 and a third group of 714 students in April 2025.
Speaking during the ceremony, Hon. Musambi reaffirmed his dedication to transforming the lives of young people through education and skills development. “Our youth deserve opportunities that will equip them with practical skills to compete in today’s job market. Technical training is the key to unlocking innovation, employment, and self-reliance,” he said.
CS Mvurya lauded the initiative, noting that partnerships between leaders and government institutions are crucial in expanding access to education. “What Hon. Musambi is doing here is commendable. By investing in technical education, he is not only shaping the future of these young people but also contributing to Kenya’s vision of a skilled workforce,” said Mvurya.
Salim Mvurya also urged the students to be forward-looking, reminding them that, “you must remain proactive in seizing government opportunities designed to deliver market-relevant skills that meet the demands of industry, entrepreneurship, and innovation.” He emphasized that such opportunities would not only secure their individual futures but also position them as “vital drivers of Kenya’s socio-economic growth.”
CS Mvurya further praised Hon. Boniface Musambi, saying “I commend Hon. Musambi for championing such transformative initiatives that nurture talent, expand pathways to employability, and uplift the young people of Kitui County.” “By investing in technical education, he is not only shaping the future of these young people but also contributing to Kenya’s vision of a skilled workforce,” he said.
This initiative aligns with the Kenya Kwanza Government under President William Ruto with the vision of ensuring that no young person is left behind in the journey of skills development and empowerment.
The flagging off 889 students on Tuesday by Hon. Musambi continues to cement his reputation as a champion of youth empowerment and education in Kitui Central and the wider Ukambani region.
The event was also graced by Lunga Lunga MP Hon. Mangale Chiforomodo and other local leaders.
