Dr. Vincent Munyoki Calls on Youths to Come Out in Large Numbers and Register as Voters
As the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) rolled out the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise on 31st September, youth across the country have been urged to take advantage of the ongoing process to register as voters ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
Dr. Vincent Munyoki, a youth leader from Kitui West constituency and the Founder of the Dr. Vincent Munyoki Foundation, has called on young people especially those from Kitui County to take the lead in shaping the future of the Kitui and the nation through voter registration.
Speaking on Sunday during a service at Holy Family Kabati Parish, Dr. Vincent Munyoki expressed concern over the low turnout recorded in the first week of voter registration in Kitui County. “I want to urge our youths to continue registering as voters. According to the latest IEBC report, only 205 new voters have registered in all eight constituencies in Kitui. That translates to just about 30 new voters per constituency, which is worrying,” he said.

Dr. Munyoki emphasized that registering as a voter is the first step toward meaningful change, noting that young people hold the power to determine the country’s leadership and future. “The only way to change Kenya, to change Kitui’s leadership, and to secure our future is through voting and you can’t vote if you’re not registered,” he added. “I’m appealing to every young person, to take part and register as a voter.”
He also extended the message to parents, urging them to play an active role in encouraging their children to register. “I’m calling upon our parents to help encourage their children to register as voters,” Dr. Munyoki stated. “It’s through voting that we can change this country and make it better for generations to come.”

Dr. Vincent Munyoki has been at the forefront of championing youth welfare, women empowerment, and elderly care, not only in Kitui West but across Kitui County at large. Through his various initiatives and community programmes, he has continued to advocate for inclusive development and equal opportunities for all.
The Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, launched by the IEBC last week, is currently ongoing across all 290 constituency IEBC offices. The Commission has announced plans to extend the process to Huduma Centres in the coming days to make it more accessible to Kenyans.
The voter registration exercise is part of IEBC’s ongoing efforts to update the national voter register ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
